Graphic Recording Samples

Thank you for a chance to Share my work with you!

I’ve worked as a professional graphic recorder for ten years. Before that, over fifteen years, I sold art, got a masters degree, won some awards, and did a lot of teaching. But something was missing. My ideas felt tedious. I was trapped in my own experience of the world. So when I made my first drawing for a live conversation (not great looking) I left buzzing from everyone’s excitement. Graphic Recording connects. I got to listen to really interesting new perspectives. It’s art about others. It allowed more belief into my life. I always wanted to serve my community more directly with art, and now I could.

Now having worked with hundreds of wonderful clients, I can tell you, my work still has it’s own voice and bias, but I am very adaptable. Clients tell me they’re grateful when I find more relevant analogies for their conversations. Someone once said, “What you do is what listening looks like,” and I inspired them to pay closer attention too. They just like seeing something beautiful while they’re talking about hard problems. It keeps their hearts open. When clarity is out of reach, my artwork helps them revisit new ideas, and find clarity over time. I have some examples below I’d like to share from some of my favorite projects. Thanks again for spending time here! —Tim

Note: These are both onsite and remote projects. If there’s something you don’t see, let me know, I have many more samples we could explore together.

Video Production

Over the years, I created several video projects for clients by combining stop action animation with timelapse video. I wanted something that felt different and real in a world dominated by digital 3D animation and fake video-scribe software. I loved directing and storyboarding for world-class writers, directors of photography, editors, voice talent, and sound-designers that new their way around lenses, light, and timing to produce all of these effects under camera.
